Wynn Las Vegas bans Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne is arguably considered the best hip hop artist on the planet. Unfortunately, even this billing can’t save Wayne from a ban that the Wynn Las Vegas recently imposed on him.
As was reported by the popular entertainment site TMZ.com, the reason for Lil Wayne’s ban was because the Wynn Las Vegas didn’t want Wayne getting in trouble for consuming alcohol on their property. The site reported:
We’re told a rep for the Wynn informed a member of Drake’s entourage that Lil Wayne would not be allowed on the property — and if he tried to enter, he’d be removed. As for why Wayne was persona non grata — sources tell us Wynn execs didn’t want any trouble … knowing Wayne is on a very short legal leash, i.e. no booze for three years. The ban never became an issue … a rep for Weezy tells us he chilled at the Palms Casino Resort and was not “scheduled” to appear at any events. A rep for the Wynn had no comment.
Lil Wayne was released from the infamous New York City prison Rikers Island after serving 8 months at the facility. As part of his probation, Wayne is not to drink alcohol for the next three years. With this being the case, Wynn Las Vegas staff members didn’t want to take a chance on Wayne. So instead of having his post-performance party at the Wynn, Lil Wayne decided to visit the Palms Hotel and Casino.
Lil Wayne has been a magnet for trouble in recent years beginning with a felony arrest in Georgia for controlled substances; the chargers were later dropped. After this arrest, Lil Wayne was busted in Arizona for felony possession of weed and guns along with other charges. The final straw was when Wayne’s tour bus was stopped in Texas, and he was busted for marijuana possession once more; this is when he was shipped off to Rikers.
