Atlantic City has been struggling quite a bit over the past few years, but perhaps they’ll get a boost from the $2.4 billion Revel Casino, which is set to open on April 2nd.

People have been discussing Revel since the mid-2000’s when the project first broke ground. However, a big recession hit the United States, and Revel was one of the biggest victims as the massive project was delayed for years afterward. Fortunately, the state of New Jersey got involved with the construction and put forth a lot of the money needed to complete Revel.

Now the 1,800-room hotel and casino is expected to be Atlantic City’s biggest attraction when it opens. The important points that Revel is advertising include their fine dining, spa, nightclub and convention space. The restaurants are especially worth mentioning because world-famous chefs such as Alain Allegretti, Jose Garces, Marc Forgione and Robert Wiedmaier are opening dining establishments in this casino.

Revel’s 160,000-square-foot theater, which is called “The Mezz,” is expected to be another huge highlight of this casino. One more unique point about Revel Casino is that it will feature the “InOut Pool,” which is a pool that starts inside and goes outside.

With all of the amenities that Revel has, many people are comparing this casino to the bigger resorts featured in Las Vegas like the MGM Grand and Bellagio. This being the case, some of the casinos are leery about how much business the Revel might take away from them. But another point being throw out there is that the Revel Casino could also draw lots more visitors to Atlantic City who, in turn, will visit other casinos in the area.
