Love of Michael Jackson lands an Ontario Woman a $1.86m Slots Jackpot

During his singing career, the late Michael Jackson had hundreds of millions of fans worldwide. And even though he’s no longer here, Jackson continues to inspire fans, including recent slots millionaire Kathryn Stokes.

The Ontario woman managed to win a $1,862,447 slots jackpot while playing ‘Michael Jackson: The King of Pop” at the Niagara Falls-based Fallsview Casino. After her big windfall, Kathryn said that her love of MJ led her to this big prize.

“It’s unbelievable, this is only my second visit to Fallsview Casino,” she said. “I chose this machine because I love Michael Jackson’s music and I was lucky to win a few hundred dollars the first time I played. This time I put in only $60.”

What’s really interesting about Stokes is that she’s not your traditional gambler who frequently plays slots. Instead, she merely went to Fallsview Casino with a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion. Stokes is an administrative worker at the Peel Regional Police in Brampton, and it’ll be interesting to see if she returns to this job after winning big.

The only thing that she seems sure of at this point involves a new vehicle. “I have no idea at the moment. I’m looking at a brand-new car,” Stokes said when asked about what she’ll do with the money.

After seeing yet another player win a massive slots prize at his establishment, Fallsview Casino President Art Frank said, “The thrill of playing a slot machine is that you just never know how the next spin will settle out. Today was clearly Ms. Stokes’ lucky day.”

While Kathryn Stokes’ win will certainly go down as one of the biggest in Fallsview history, it’s far from the largest ever. This honor belongs to retired nurse Doris Wendt, who, in 2002, won a $5,613,203 slots jackpot.
