How to keep your Blackjack Winnings

posted in Blackjack

If you play blackjack correctly, the house only holds less than a 2% advantage. With such a slim house edge, there is a good chance that you’ll win lots of money in blackjack from time to time. But just as easily as you can win money, you can also lose it by not knowing when to walk away from the table. With that in mind, here is a good way to hang onto your blackjack winnings and not give them back to online casinos.

Keep 10 Winning Bets

The optimal number to shoot for in any blackjack session is 10 winning bets. So if you’re up by 20 bets after a good night of blackjack, you should set aside 10 bets and only play with the other 10 winning bets from there on out. If you lose any of the bets, do not replace them; just keep playing until you are either satisfied with how much you’ve won or have lost all of the bets you’re using.

Don’t place Huge Wagers during a Hot Streak

It’s always tempting to start placing bigger wagers when you’re on a hot streak in blackjack. You’re in the zone and feel invincible so it only makes sense to do start betting big. However, this is also the quickest way to decimate your winnings because once you are off of the hot streak, you will lose twice as much (or even more).

Know when to cut a Losing Session

Just as with a winning session, you need to know when it’s time to quit a losing session. If you’ve lost 20 bets, you should strongly consider quitting a blackjack session. Of course, this is never easy because there is always the temptation to “battle back”, but it’s essential that you quit before your gambling bankroll is gone. The easiest way to do this is to never keep enough money in your online account to go past 20 lost wagers.
