Johnny Manziel spends 21st Birthday at Vegas’ Hard Rock Casino
College football star Johnny Manziel attained celebrity status last year after becoming the first freshman to win both the Heisman Trophy and Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. And what’s amazing is that the Texas A&M QB did all of this before his 21st birthday!
Well this weekend, Manziel finally turned 21, and he celebrated the milestone by doing some gambling at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. TMZ caught the story as they spotted Manziel playing blackjack at the Hard Rock. Here’s a quick look at what TMZ wrote on the matter:
The Texas A&M quarterback suited up Friday night — along with a bunch of friends — and hit up the casino at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas … where they bee lined it straight for the blackjack tables.
Sources in the casino tell us the guys played for roughly an hour — from the looks of things, Johnny was doing his gambling with a short stack of the standard $5 red chips.
The tobacco-spitting, beer-drinking Manziel has often lived his life outside the bounds. The reigning Heisman Trophy holder was arrested after a fight before the beginning of last year’s college football season. “Johnny Football” was charged with disorderly conduct, failure to identify, and being in possession of a fictitious driver’s license.
Lucky for Manziel, his coaches and teammates forgave him before the season started, and he was able to win the starting quarterback job. What ensued was one of the most memorable seasons ever for a player, as Manziel threw for 3,706 passing yards and rushed for another 1,410 yards. The freshman has been quite impressive in 2013 too, throwing for 3,732 yards and rushing for 686 yards, with a bowl game remaining on the schedule.
