Gladiator Slots Review

posted in Slots

Grab your helmet, sword and shield, and head into the coliseum to play Gladiator slots. This Playtech-designed game is based off of the motion picture that starred Russell Crowe, and it offers much of the same excitement. One real bonus to playing this game is the music and sound effects, which make you feel as if you’re truly experiencing the Roman gladiator age. The graphics also bear striking resemblance to the actors from the movie with their incredible detail. If your curiosity is peaked, let’s move further into the Gladiator slots review.

Gladiator Details

The structure of this game features 5 reels and 20 paylines, which is pretty standard for Playtech slots games. Some of the movie-based symbols that you’ll see on the reels include Emperor Marcus Aurelius, General Maximus, Senator Gracchus, Lucilla and the Roman Coliseum. The most commonly-seen symbols include A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 since they yield smaller prizes.

Wild and Scatter Symbols

The Gladiator Helmet represents the wild symbol, and this substitutes for any other symbol to create a winning combination. Interestingly enough, you’ll only see the Gladiator Helmet appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. Assuming the helmet lands on all three reels simultaneously, you’ll be taken to the Gladiator Bonus round (discussed later). The Roman Coliseum is the scatter symbol, and this will multiply your wins by the following amounts: 2 symbols = 1x, 3 symbols = 4x, 4 symbols = 20x, 5 symbols = 100x. When three or more scatters appear on the reels, this triggers the Coliseum Bonus round.

Gladiator Bonus Game

As discussed in the wild/scatter section, there are two different bonus games offered in Gladiator. This being said, here is a closer look at both games.

Gladiator Bonus (3 helmets on reels 2, 3, 4) – The game chooses nine random helmets; the values of these bronze, silver and gold helmets are added up to equal your prize.

Coliseum Bonus (3 scatters anywhere on reels) – Choose squares in a 4×5 grid to reveal free games, free game multipliers, extra scatter symbols and extra wild symbols.

Gladiator Jackpot

The Gladiator jackpot is non-progressive, which means there are no multi-million dollar payouts available here. However, most players won’t complain about the 5,000-coin jackpot, which is paid out if you manage to get five Emperor Marcus Aurelius symbols in one payline.

Gamble Feature

One additional aspect of Gladiator that’s worth mentioning is the Gamble feature. This option is available any time you complete a winning combination, and it enables you to double or triple the win amounts. To use the Gamble feature, you decide whether cards will be red or black.

Summing our Gladiator slots review up, this game does an excellent job of staying true to the Ridley Scott-directed motion picture in regards to music and graphics. So if you loved the film, make sure to check out the slots game!
